I am a fifty something technocrat (aka geek) into photography, computers and technology in general. I use both film and digital cameras. Both still have a place I feel. My digital cameras see much more use than the film slr as it is always there and ready to go. My most common subjects are plants, railways, cars and wildlife. Tired of the cost and bloat of Windows I have been using Linux as my primary OS for sometime now. Most, but not all, of the software I use daily is free and open source. It has been a mostly happy transformation but not perfect. I still dual boot with XP but use of XP is rarer these days. I live in the Hawkesbury Valley on the outskirts of Sydney Australia. Not country but not quite city, the best and worst of both.
