This is what I found in the tree that partly shades the back of the house. I have seen Galahs here before but this is the first time I have caught Corellas feasting on the nuts. (The noise was discarded shells and other mess landing on the roof).
On my old blog I posted some photos of Blue Wrens that are often seen around the yard. However these guys are much less common. Occasionally they appear but I don't usually have a camera handy.
They are about the same size as the wrens but much calmer. The wrens on the same branch took off but these ones just posed for me.

It is just an old metal gate, made years ago from square tubing. It still serves the purpose for whcih it was created. Now it has a permanent keeper. He takes his job seriously, inspecting everyone who touches the gate. He is aware of any action affecting it as he lives in one of the uprights.
He is the gatekeeper.
